Visual identity for the modern era
Rebrand pitch for an amateur, village football team based in West Yorkshire. I decided to undertake this project due to their dated visual identity and their lack of social media presence. The club, which has a long, rich history, dating back to 1919 has it’s routes strongly linked to their industrial past, currently residing on the former site of the David Brown Tractor Factory. Wanting to break away from the repetitive modern roundel football crest designs of the modern era, I decided to take visual cues from the village’s history with influences from typography found around the area, as well as creating a visual identity built around the old mill’s architecture. I created a visual system that was modern, eye catching and unique but still has links to the areas history. One of the biggest factors and thought process when beginning this project was to make sure that I created a system that was easy to replicate and update long in to the future by creating simplistic template designs for future convenience.
