Football stickers have become a prominent part of fan culture, in this self-initiated photographic project I documented a walk from the John Smith’s Stadium to the Etihad Stadium, this hand-produced book captures the proliferation of these stickers, placed by British Ultra fans. Capturing and recording well over 1,000 stickers from 48 different football clubs, this project examines the stickers as markers of time and distance: the wear and tear revealing their age, the placement suggesting the lengths fans go to express their support, and the designs themselves reflecting evolving trends in fan aesthetics. This visual study offers a unique perspective on the material culture of football fandom.
